008 § Video/Offline § A House For Appa

[The feed comes on and there's a rather good sized pile of junk around Aang. Some rocks and stones and bricks from broken walls, some bits of wood and metal, and a bucket from the mom and pop shop Reno talked about that has some nails and hammers and things.]

Now that the water's gone, I'm gonna make a house for Appa! It's gonna be sorta made of everything, but it'll work!

If anyone wants to help me, they can! Or they can just come by and hang out!

A lot of people have never seen a sky bison before.

Do you want to come over? Appa likes meeting new people!

[He's a little embarrassed at the offer, mostly because he secretly wants to come over.]

...I suppose there's no harm in it. I may be able to help with constructing his house, as well.

[Aang invites everyone ever over. Most of Adstring must know where he lives by now.]

Sure! That'd be nice! But you don't have to. [He's totally happy to have more help!]

Oh! [He sends the coordinates by text.] That's where I live!

[It takes him a short while to get there, but when he does, he's coming onto a scene of a whole bunch of people helping to build this house. And behind the group is the sky bison he recognized from the video.]

Here I am.

[Aang comes running over when he shows up.] Hi!

Hi. [Kurapica blinks a few times at him before he grows a small smile.] Maybe you won't need my help constructing after all. It looks like you have plenty of friends to help you.

Yeah! A lot of people came to help. But you can still hang out! Oh! And you should meet Appa, too!

That sounds like a good idea. [He nods and lifts his head up to where he sees the big fluffy back of what is probably Appa. Kurapica paces to him, a little tentatively.]

Um...hello. My name's Kurapica. [He says to Aang's bison.]

[Appa sniffs the air around him and gives a neutral enough bleat.]

I think he likes you!

I see. That's a relief... [He didn't want the giant freakin' bison hating him and possibly eating him.]

[Aang just blinks.]

Why's that?

A-ah, never mind. [He'd feel bad telling Aang that.]

...What kind of things does he eat?

Grass and fruit and vegetables!

I see. It must be a bit difficult finding the fruit and vegetables to feed him. I imagine grass must get tiring after a while. [He sends an apologetic look over to Appa.]

Yeah, sometimes. [He grins.] But my friend, Raphael, brings him fruit sometimes.

Raphael? The name sounds familiar...

She's this tall [He holds his hand up to about the vessel's height.] and she's pretty and has dark skin and is an angel! She keeps her wings hidden, but they're so pretty!

An angel? [He hasn't met any of the angels yet...other than Castiel, but he doesn't know he's an angel.] ...You've seen her wings?

Yeah! She doesn't show them off very much, but they were so cool!

[He's not sure he believes him yet. But he won't tell Aang that; he'll just go investigate. Though...]

I suppose if there are vampires here, then angels aren't entirely out of the question either. In fact, nothing is impossible, if the encounter with Kururu didn't already demonstrate that... [/voicing thoughts out loud]

Yeah, there's all sorts of people here!

Yes, I think you're right. And I imagine there are plenty yet to come whose home worlds and lives are far beyond the expected.

Yeah! It'll be sad if they end up here, but it'll be cool to meet them!

[The enthusiasm reminds him so much of Gon. He really can't resist smiling.]

I agree. It may be beneficial in some way to know about other worlds and people.

[He laughs.] I love meeting new people and learning about them. I think it's good for people to do.
